The mouth/s on the top are actually 3 of the same. Using the secret tab key you can usually bring up a couple of extra rotation circles. This doesn't work for feet though, its just a way for fine tuning anything that has the facing circle I am guessing.

http://www.spore.com/sporep...

Re: Spore Daily Challenge #1: Odds or Evens

http://www.spore.com/sporep...
http://www.youtube.com/v/x7...

I've been thinking of an odd-footed creature for a couple of days, so here's my entry. Originally wanted to do a 5-footed beast, hadn't seen any of those, but didn't work out too well. But that is where Triwiskulus was born: one-foot may seem like an evolutionary disadvantage, but with his whipwick 'whiskas' giving it some sneak bonus, and the wings to help with balance and as a rudder in flight (5-total) to escape the fight if it's not going too well. That is where the hockitlauncher on the tail comes in handy when fleeing: it just uses stalkgazer on the back to sight the foe and 'pitoo-ee'.

5x stalkgazer, 5x antisoptera, 1x phatella, 3x whipwick, 1x terrorpin, 1x hockitlauncher

Re: Spore Daily Challenge #1: Odds or Evens

You did well with the concept of your creature, I have thought about doing soemthing similar before but never got around to it. With 5 limbs it looks really good, perhaps the ideal number. I agree with the foot rotation though, particularly those feet, its annoyed me a few times already. Kudos for stepping up to the odds side of the challenge.

Re: Spore Daily Challenge #1: Odds or Evens

I love the way you've done Spinder's legs. I tried something similar in the Trial and gave up in frustration. ;)
Feet rotation would be useful, yes. I guess it was some kind of technical issue that stopped it being added. Your creature looks good with them angled outwards though!

Re: Spore Daily Challenge #1: Odds or Evens

Oh, very nice idea with the digits!
I like your creature, he has his hands ready to shovel food right into his bellymouth. :)

Re: Spore Daily Challenge #1: Odds or Evens

Yeah, it's kind of two torsoes if you have a thin linking part in the middle, but it's still technically one, so I wanted to make sure people knew that was a legitimate exception to the guidelines.
The Duotorsilians look great!

Re: Spore Daily Challenge #1: Odds or Evens

I went with odds. Here is Spinder:
http://www.spore.com/sporep...
http://www.youtube.com/watc...
I wanted to try for as much symmetry as I could get with odd numbers. The part count is 1 mouth, 5 eyes, 5 limbs, 5 feet, 15 armor plates, and 1 Gemstone doodad. The toughest part was watching the complexity meter, although I wish there were a way to rotate the feet so they all pointed inward.

Re: Spore Daily Challenge #1: Odds or Evens

I chose evens. While it can be pretty easy to do by just adding a mouth, I didn't want to make something with odds just because I haven't been too fond of the way they turn out for me. I thought about doing the two torso thing that you can sort of do, but I get a ton of clipping problems with those, but more importantly you hit complexity limits very quickly and mostly from redundancy. To keep true to the challeng and not just simply make a normal creature and add and extra mouth I kept evens in mind for the digits on an individual hand/foot, and also, put a centered feature

http://www.spore.com/sporep...
http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Re: Spore Daily Challenge #1: Odds or Evens

Here's my entry. As you may be able to tell, I chose evens. I also found a way (well, kind of) to have more than one torso. Unfortunately, while trying to essentially create two creatures connected at the head, I made my creature too complicated and couldn't change the hands or feet. So the Duotorsilians have to live with quite boring hands and feet.

http://www.spore.com/sporep...
http://uk.youtube.com/watch...
